Telefónica presenta la plataforma Familia Digital para mejorar la seguridad de los niños en Internet

Telefónica ha presentado la plataforma Familia Digital, un Centro de Recursos para Padres cuyo objetivo es impulsar la educación digital y contribuir a crear un Internet mejor para los niños.
La web ya está disponible en España para la marca Movistar y para O2 se lanzará en el Reino Unido en primavera, tras una prueba piloto con padres que se realizará en la flagship de Leeds. Asimismo, llegará a otros países en los que opera Telefónica a lo largo de este año, según informa la compañía.

La plataforma ha sido desarrollada por Foro Generaciones Interactivas con la colaboración de European Schoolnet, la Universidad de Navarra, INSAFE, la EU Kids Online, Childnet International, Protégeles y PantallasAmigas.

Telefónica y PantallasAmigas han lanzado la campaña “Seis recomendaciones para la prevención del Ciberbullying”, que incluye la publicación en Youtube de seis vídeos con consejos prácticos para evitar el acoso en la red, así como seis entrevistas a distintos profesionales, que darán su visión sobre este asunto en el Blog de Responsabilidad Corporativa de Telefónica.

Arranca hoy "Conectados", juego concurso sobre el uso responsable de las nuevas tecnologías

Arranca hoy el juego concurso "Conectados", realizado por Kidekom para La Fundación de Ayuda contra la Drogadicción (FAD), con la colaboración de Google y el Apoyo de Tuenti.

"Conectados" es un gymkhana virtual para sensibilizar a adolescentes y jóvenes de 14 a 16 años sobre el uso responsable de las nuevas tecnologías e Internet: Internet y redes sociales; La protección de la privacidad; La necesidad de cuestionar la fiabilidad de la información; Las relaciones sociales, buenas prácticas y uso responsable.

Teens and Technology 2013

Smartphone adoption among American teens has increased substantially and mobile access to the internet is pervasive. One in four teens are “cell-mostly” internet users, who say they mostly go online using their phone and not using some other device such as a desktop or laptop computer.

These are among the new findings from a nationally representative Pew Research Center survey. Key findings include:
• 78% of teens now have a cell phone.
• 23% of teens have a tablet computer,
• 95% of teens use the internet.
• 93% of teens have a computer or have access to one at home.

Perception croisée enfants/parents face à l’usage d’Internet

La division RSA d’EMC, partenaire du Safer Internet Day, a sollicité l’IFOP pour réaliser une étude.

L’objectif de l’étude était d’analyser les usages et la perception d’Internet qu’ont les enfants en les comparant à la perception qu’en ont leurs parents. Voici les thèmes investigués :
- Contexte de l’utilisation d’internet par les enfants
- Niveau de sécurité perçu
- Comportements sur Internet
- Connaissance des droits et devoirs de l’internaute

"Te Protejo", una iniciativa para la protección, a través de Internet, de la infancia y la adolescencia en Colombia.

"Te Protejo", es una iniciativa colombiana del Ministerio TIC, ICBF, Fundación Telefónica, Red PaPaz y el Foro de Generaciones Interactivas de España que cuenta con el apoyo de la Policía Nacional.

"Te Protejo" es la primera línea de denuncia virtual y anónima en Colombia para la protección de la infancia y la adolescencia, así mismo, es la primera en América Latina en ser miembro de INHOPE, un organismo internacional creado en 1999 que regula 41 líneas de denuncias de pornografía infantil en 36 países.

New Study Shows Significant Gaps in Perceptions about Teens’ Online Behavior

Research released by the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) explores the online generation gap between parents and teens and reveals a number of disparities in their views about online safety. These gaps in perception demonstrate that great advancements can and should be made to improve communication between parents and teens about online behavior.

Key survey findings include:
- Teens think parents are less informed.
- A disconnect exists in online safety conversations.
- Parents underestimate teens’ concerns about potential consequences of their online activities.
- Parents are monitoring more than teens think.

What do you wish your parents knew about technology?


One of the goals of "A Platform for Good" is to encourage conversation about technology. The are running a sweepstakes to involve teens in that process.
A Platform for Good is asking young people to help us identify the areas where adults’ technology skills are lacking by answering the question: what do you wish your parents knew about technology? 
To enter, teens have to be between the ages of 13 and 21 and have an active email address and send a response of 140 characters or less.
Everyone who submits a response will be automatically entered to win an XBox Kinect. The sweepstakes closes on November 1st.
